The Culpeper Warriors Wrestling Club has joined the NVWF to offer our warriors a chance to compete. This federation league is broken up by age division and skill of our Warriors. To view the NVWF page, click here
What are the age groups for NVWF? – While the divisions haven’t been set since they are awaiting registration for this year to happen, here’s what the divisions were last year.
Eligibility – NVWF is open to wrestlers ages 5 – 15. Kids born 1/1/2008 and after.
Age divisions are determined after registrations are received and before the first tournament. Last season’s divisions were as follows:
Season 2021-2022 Age Divisions:
Bantam 10/1/2015 – 12/13/2017
Midget 10/1/2013 – 9/30/2015
Junior 4/1/2011 – 9/30/2013
Intermediate 9/1/2009 – 3/31/2011
Seniors 1/1/2007 – 8/31/2009
Note: Currently the oldest senior has a birthday of 6/1/2007 so the actual age spread of seniors is 27 months. T
What are the costs? – NVWF costs $80 per wrestler to participate in competitions. Culpeper Warriors gets no part of this money and still remains free to practice for the community.
What are the other requirements? – NVWF requires a current USA Wrestling card (just like the Warriors do) that at a minimum is the Limited Folkstyle membership level.
In addition, they will need headgear, singlet and wrestling shoes. Headgear can be purchased from any online store such as Amazon. Here’s a headgear example for $10 and here’s an example shoe for youth sizes. Be advised that any headgear and shoe will work, not just the ones we have listed. Warriors singlets will be available to purchase once the team store opens approximately 10/15/2022. A message will go out with links to that.
I’m sold on it, how do I register? – You can register your child here. You will need a card for payment and your usawrestling number for your child to validate. If you have any questions, you can contact the Warriors Coaching Staff and we can assist.
Schedule of Events – The schedule of matches and competitions are listed here on our Culepeperwarriors.com competitions page. Competitions go from Dec 11th through Feb 26th. All of them are on Sundays except the end of year competition which is a Saturday and Sunday.
